I still watch your stuff as well... Your promos are still the high water mark for me. I think of you often, though we never met. Good vibes your way, my man.

WOW! This is actually the first time I've watched it I didn't know it was done...take 30 minutes out of your busy life to watch his movie. It will definitely open your eyes. I can't even imagine going through this.

Good vibes Patrick!! Hope everything is ok...
You inspired me and a ton lot of people more, to remember to stay strong when things go wrong (i started riding my bike and taking care of me again years a go, knowing you on Newstoday, and your "case", after seeing how fragile our lives, our body, are).
Thanks for your inspiration

it's a blessing he has such loving family.

Might be a lot to ask, but lets copy the full-version doc to a Facebook status and write up a little something asking people to spread the word/donate. I did this morning. Most will ignore, but of the 100,000's (if not millions of friends represented by the members here) I feel like we'd get some traction.
Feeling humbled and optimistic.
Would love to increase Patrick's support base!

Here's what I wrote up the included the link to the doc.
Feel free to copy+paste (and edit) for ease-of-use.Humbled.
Patrick O'brien is a designer, videographer, father, son and friend.
We are both members of the online design community QBN/Newstoday.
8 years ago, Patrick was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). In that time, he's had a son, continued to direct (including this documentary) and live a life of gratitude and love.
Please take the 30 minutes - as hard as this can be to watch - and get to know Patrick, his family and his story. I guarantee it will put things into perspective for you, regardless of your daily troubles and heavy loads.
If you're as touched and humbled by this as I am, please consider donating to Patrick at:

You know that in albums profile when you click to visit his website it links you to Patrick's foundation?
That's the reason why I never forgot it in the first place.
Big UP!

oh the doc IS online. Its a great thing to raise awareness for his story and cause. A very cool and strong person, I feel fortunate for knowing him even indirectly through NT/QBN. I hope he knows we're still paying attention.

What a great piece. Had me holding back tears through most of it. I remember his very humorous posts on NT back in the day. Hope all is well Transfatty.
PS - loved seeing the old NT page on his screen there for a sec during the movie.

Ill be honest. I watched the doc and cried my eyes out at moments...
More who know this story the better. Be well Patrick!

Man, had my birthday on Friday and was a bit down.
Then I spent Saturday just updating my knowledge about his situation, watching the video, seeing his pictures on Flickr, his posts here, reading the POBF website, how to help, share all this with everybody...I spent all the time with tears in my eyes while watching the video and after I felt I was being a loser for having stupid thoughts about my life the day before.
That night I had an interesting conversation with my Wing Tsun Master, he had a near death experience and he decided afterwards never to run to be on time and to only do what he really likes.
I mentioned Patrick's situation and showed just the trailer.
People felt really touched and found it incredible how in all of this he still finds strength to continue this project.Respect.
And the best wishes from the bottom of my heart.- +++identity
