for all the rest, there's the MSR alpinist deluxe kitchen set. everything you need in one little parcel.
- those msrs are great. there's a model that you can fill with almost any liquid fule, alcohol, etc.sine
- fuel*sine
- those katadyns are great, and last forever, but heavy. some aquatabs and a coffee filter saves you about 2lbsmonNom
- yeah, good idea. the katadyne would be really good for a long term base campscarabin

i've owned a lot of packs, mostly military, but always come back to this one. sturdy and roomy as a frame pack but without the weight. expands to acfcomodate larger loads. smart thinking in the details, design.
comes with a detachable go bag you can use as a "shit kit" or carry food or supplies in for a very short excursion away from base camp.

it also accommodates a hydration bladder. i use this one 'cause it's got my name on it but there are plenty out there

- honestly i'd prefer to build my own shelter and make whatever tools i need at the moment from found materials when camping but festivals are a different storyscarabin
- but festivals are a different storyscarabin
