eating meat is the same thing as killing animals for pleasure. i really don't see how an omnivore could have a stance against this...
- How?Xopher
- you don't require meat to survive, you just enjoy eating meat so you do so. those animals were killed because a burger is more pleasurable to you than say, pasta. that's killing for pleasure, bro.scarabin
- pleasurable to you than say, pasta. that's killing for pleasure, bro.scarabin
- furhtermore, it's worse because your animals were farmed in cruel conditions whereas hunted animals live free before being killedscarabin
- killedscarabin
- So how do you feel about killing people?fredddddd
- i can't recall the last time i ate a humanscarabin
- anyway, i wear leather so i'm guilty as well. i'm just pointing out how ridiculous a lot of these reactions arescarabin
- I love you scarabin, but eating meat is not killing for pleasure, sorry.monospaced
- and the way I read it, you're implying that we've evolved beyond eating meat... I just can't agree with thatmonospaced
- butchers do their work not because it's fun but because it's a job and, well, frankly, eating meat is part of being humanmonospaced
- being human, in many waysmonospaced
- we've totally evolved beyond eating meat. meat is efficient, not necessary. if you want to be really technical about it, the body can get all nutrients it needs from just potatoes and butter http://en.wikipedia.…scarabin
- can get all nutrients it needs from just potatoes and butter http://en.wikipedia.…scarabin
- you're not eating meat because it's necessary, you're eating meat because you prefer it.scarabin
- also because our species evolved eating itmonospaced
- i'm not debating the morality of it, the debating the need for it. it's not needed, therefore it is eaten for pleasurescarabin
- i'm not debating morality eithermonospaced
- great debate!oey

You kill a vegetable / fruit when you pull it from the ground, vine, or tree. Everything that is to be consumed by almost every species on the planet is living in some way before and during consumption. Be it a cow, worm, chimpanzee, or apple; why do only humans seem to have an issue with eating some species but not others? Reason is a very subjective rationale of thought to live by. Preservation is obviously not a human concern, it's an individual one that is not as widespread as others would prefer it be.
- apple LOLd_gitale
- maybe I'm misunderstanding, but are they eating these giraffes?fourth
- in that article no, but I've read that there are trophy hunts that sometimes feed villagersalbums
- the meat is valuable as is the skin and anything else the "hunter" doesn't want as his "trophy"albums
- i'm referring to the folks in this thread, not people who ACTUALLY have to consume animals to survive.scarabin
- again, i'm not saying eating animals or whatever is wrong, i'm saying it's the same as the giraffe killing people here are condemningscarabin

Who do you place the blame on then?
The ones pulling the trigger or the ones who accepted the £10,000 to allow the hunt?As far as preservation goes, accepting cash to kill should be the bigger problem here, but of course in typical qbn fashion, the ones holding the gun seem to be guilty, not the ones who enabled the hunt.
- The blame is on both. The people profiting wouldn't do it if it weren't for assholes wanting to.monospaced
- the hunt was legal if they paid, hate goes to the capitalists wanting that cheesealbums
- Guns don't kill people...
moronic gun owners do!utopian - The hunt was legal if they payed. Payed who, some poverty stricken peeps? Who'd sell their own mothers at a price.Peter
- I blame rappers.
http://www.imdb.com/…Peter - nobody was questioning the legality of the hunt. They were questioning the morality. Are you really that black and white in your thinking?Josev
- in your thinking?Josev

- LEAVE GIRAFFES ALONE!
http://forevertwenty…albums - And their other option? Taco Bell?MrT
- hahamonospaced
- I'd sooner eat giraffe than taco bellalbums
- mmm, giraffe taco supreme...monospaced
- i'd eat giraffe any day over taco bell..bliznutty
- LEAVE GIRAFFES ALONE!

scarabin, i understand your viewpoint.
i agree but not to the fulness, also because of questions raised by monospaced and though his arguments are weaker he has a certain point, but it makes total sense what you say.
i also have pleasure eating bananas, but i could be eating apples.and yes you have a choice and you choose a certain thing that might give you more pleasure.
but killing for sport is still different from killing to eat at a certain point.|'ve killed for both fun and food. next time only for survival. human or not.
- nah it's still the same thing. you kill for food because you find meat more pleasurable than pasta or whatever. there's no grey area there.scarabin
- grey area there.scarabin
- and when i say "kill for food" i'm also referring to buying it somewhere. you caused the death of the animal.scarabin
- not me man! i'm vegetarian.oey

The height of a giraffe ranges from 14 to 17 feet or 4.3 to 5.2 meters. Male giraffes weigh about 2,830 pounds or 1,191 kilograms. Female giraffes are about 800 pounds lighter at 1,830 pounds or 828 kilograms.
the size of a giraffe makes it a powerful against other animals. They can run up to 55 kilometers per hour for short periods. In the savannah, the only animal that can threaten a giraffe is the lion.
-
...but people think they're cute so you bitch and moan...
- albums0
if you're crying about these giraffes, I hope you're crying about those bugs on your windshield and smashed on the bottom of your shoe.

This is disgusting.
All forms of hunting for fun is disgusting, be it a bird or a giraffe.
I don't buy the excuse that if you're going to eat it, it's ok. We have farmed animals for that, we're not cavemen any more.
- animatedgif0
What annoys me is people who value the life of cute animals over ugly ones.
- +1PersonaNonGrata
- You don't? You'd marry someone ugly to be fair?fredddddd
- I wouldn't fuck something ugly.
But I wouldn't get more upset if a cute person died over an ugly one.animatedgif - You are a better person than most.fredddddd

I know you're trolling albums, but..
Giraffes and other large mammals tend to be higher up the food chain than insects and fruit & vegetables. They don't just crawl into a ditch and squirt a millions of eggs onto the breeze (not suggesting this is your preferred courtship method, but I wouldn't be surprised). They live longer and have fewer young - spending relatively long periods of time ensuring their offspring have the best chances of survival. It works until it's interfered with.
They've got evolution, rather than numbers, on their side. A fact most people understand, which is why most people find it depressing when they're needlessly shot by idiots.
- That was my point about reason. Nature does just fine without it. Populations balance without intervention.albums
- Also, no matter where you are on the food chain, you can get eaten, humans included. Hence the term "food" chain.albums
- It's the subjective reasoning of humans existing on several levels that allow such hunts to take place.albums

I'd have no problems with hunters hunting other hunters.
Something like a cross between hunting and culling.
We could call it Cunting.
- Haha, that should be a t shirtformed
- HAHAHA... I'm going CuntingRamanisky2
- Should be legal somewhere outside war.fredddddd

disgustingly repulsive humans!

You know when the gun laws change, Africa's gonna be the number 1 place for 'mericans to go shoot stuff.
- pango0
what the hell are gonna do with a dead giraffe?
photo ops? and bragging right?
- plash0
this is the least of the atrocities that human kind has committed. we humans have a natural gift of fucking shit up & all in all, we have a proven track record that we're natural born killers.
- mikotondria30
It's nothing to do with being 'cute'.
Now think about that in a room on your own for about 10 years.
