Took it to apple - they cleaned the inside - plugged in at the apt and it still smells slightly..
Guy at work said this happened to all the older white macbooks in the editorial dept some years back.
System is fine, no "working" issues, just smells like Funk.
Good to know
Maybe you should stop rubbing your body on it.
easy on the pr0n dude....
Keep us posted.
is it the old imac,
Someone is probably spunking in the dvd slit,
fanboys are cray cray
Literally laughing out loud at my desk @ that post title.
hah! I remember those stinky old powerbooks!
This is right up there with stale coffee smelling of cat piss!
Somebody got fired and they kept him in for the last month they were paying him instead of telling him to go home.
I was laughing @ "took it to Apple". How does that go?
*Put computer on genius bar.
"My computer smells..."
- It was somewhat embarrassing to say the least. Dude kept sniffing the upper left corner over and over again saying "Yeah, I'm getting something, it definitely smells, I am getting something here" - needless to say, there were some looks from people next to me so I attempted to stay on the DL. Difficult on the open floor though.antimotion
- I need closure on that anecdote.ETM
- Maybe the bloke at the Genius Bar fainted from the pong before he could finish.Continuity
your cat probably shat in your computer
Is it possibly an overheating power supply or video card that's singing/melting the plastic case? This was a problem on some MBPs awhile back, but their aluminum cases just got hot, not stinky.
could be old part being heated and cooled. how old is your mac? if there are any rubber, plastic parts this could be it. also moisture build up also then the fan blows it out.
...just take that imac to the bathroom and please use a little bit of soap...
It's off. Probably turning putrid. Throw it out.
That happened to mine - i sold it. Got more money for it than I would have normally because I said it was the iMac of weatherman Al Roker, who we all know sweats profusely.
