Does anyone know how to get the water proof casing off? It's not in the manual and I doubt I'm supposed to use a hammer and screwdriver to pry it off.

Ah, Nevermind, I found it. It's a double clasping riddle to open but I got it.

Just bought a Go Pro Hero 3 Black Edition.
How long to charge the battery for the first time? And I've read I can use my iPhone wall charger for it?
More questions to come.
Any other tips?

the touch screen lcd screen is great too. You can see what you're filming, its waterproof and you can playback footage (& in slo-mo) :] (not sure how much extra battery it takes up tho,..haven't had a chance to campare)

Are there any negative or positive things to say about your experience as a Hero 3 Black Edition owner from anyone here using one?
A lot of the reviews, even on the GoPro site, lambaste the battery life and more than several owners complain about the unit overheating and freezing / locking up. There are even instances of it not recording at all though it indicates that recording is in process.
I'm wanting one but not sure what to do, so many people still rave the Hero 2 over the Hero 3 but i'm interested in playing with the 120 & 240 fps modes.
Worst case scenario is I return it if it doesn't work as expected, but any insight would be appreciated.

I did a test with @ 240fps a few weeks ago...obviously the resolution's not the best but you get some great results. Depending how slow you want it, the 720p @ 120fps is pretty nice too :]
