Full abums, start to finish mostly. For the same reason as you.
I do shuffle and listen to playlists aswell, but not as much.

It depends if I'm in the mood for a mix of music or if it's a band I'm really keen on and I like the progression of an album.
On the way to work and back I'm always on a shuffle, but at home I typically throw an album on.

I'm in my 30's - I still believe in the album as an art form.
Having said that I still love a good mix-tape/CD/playlist.
I'm a man of cuntradictions.

I used to think ipod shuffles were a stupid idea, you'd skip so many, but for the gym they're amazing. I only really have 15-20 real core gym tracks that I like to run/lift weights to. When I'm flagging it's gotta be one of those, or I get annoyed. So for the gym, shuffle all the way.

I love albums start to finish, but currently am sitting in a hotel room in Florida listening to my songs on shuffle. I love the random aspect of hearing songs that I like in an unpredictable order.

Full albums. I went through a spell a few years ago of having my iTunes on shuffle but I feel albums should be listened to from start to finish.

Start-to-finish... a good album is like a good book. You wouldn't just pickup a book and start reading a chapter somewhere in the middle... or near the end?
That being said there is a time and place for 'Shuffling'. When i'm at the gym I have a mix of like 100 tracks that I shuffle through.

- Album is like a collection of related short stories. It's okay to listen to any song separate from the album. Dude.monospaced

Albums all the time. The only exception is a mix tape I keep changing for running. Got to keep the energy going.

I'm in my 90s and can't hear anymore...so it doesn't matter

I'm in my 30s and have never believed in the album. Talk about "good albums" all you want, but 90% of them have 2-4 songs worth listening to and a bunch of crap to fill the rest of the time.

If I hear a song I like, from whatever source, that I've never heard before, I usually load the respective artist up on Spotify and listen to the whole album.
Reason: more often than not, the popular "radio" track isn't the best one on the album. And, the album puts the tracks into context.
After that, I usually only listen to the ones I like, periodically revisiting the others just in case I missed something.
- lvl_130
usually the whole album. but i also listen to a lot of 1 hour mixes.

rarely whole albums made after, say the mid 90's....
but from the 60's and 70's, more likely.... especially some...
