- "Our new logotype is set in a custom, geometric sans-serif typeface and maintains the multi-colored playfulness and rotated ‘e’ of our previous mark—a reminder"CuriousGeorge
- angled "e" would make more sense if the tail was correct and turned with the rest of character. I don't get rotated concept from this.horton
- It makes sense to me, and shares a nice relationship with the angle of the stroke on the Gmonospaced

Everything about the logo sucks -- the lettering, the colors, the shape, etc. etc.
It's just a bad logo. Period. Nothing special about it.
Had this not been a logo for Google, NOBODY would bother justify its creation and NOBODY would ever call it a "good" or "great" logo.
- you said this :)monospaced
- you remembered :-)chukkaphob
- But it is a logo for Google. So, the colours and what preceded it are essential to how one feels about it.MrT
- You clearly have absolutely no idea what you're talking about :)set
- Fuck this. Google is killing it with design and this comment is pure ignorance :)qoob

- design exists in context, & this is an amazing bridge from where they are to where they go. the equity they've build is worth millions...showpony

Google employees confess all the worst things about working at Google
"There are students from top 10 colleges who are providing tech support for Google's ads products, or manually taking down flagged content from YouTube, or writing basic code to A|B test the color of a button on a site."
"Any improvement not based on a hard metric was flatly not a respected use of time," said a former Google software engineer. "Usability? Number of bugs? Nobody cared. If you couldn't measure it, nobody was interested in it."
"Work/life balance. What balance? All those perks and benefits are an illusion. They keep you at work and they help you to be more productive. I've never met anybody at Google who actually [took] time off on weekends or on vacations. You may not hear management say, 'You have to work on weekends/vacations' but, they set the culture by doing so - and it inevitably trickles down."
"They hire the same person over and over again," said an anonymous commenter. "Same background, same 10 schools, same worldview, same interests. It's no exaggeration to say that I met 100 triathletes in my three years at Google. Only a handful of them were interesting people."

Google under scrutiny over lobbying influence on Congress and White House.
Google has made political donations to 162 members of the US Congress in the latest election cycle, figures show, as concerns grow over the internet giant’s lobbying influence in Washington.

I can't believe all the hate over this new logo. Such lazy critique. When you consider all the ways that this identity SYSTEM has to flex, how could any designer not applaud this? This is solid work.
- chukkaphob3
It was never a good logo to begin with; and it's still a bad one.
...and it doesn't really matter, neither to Google, nor to the consumer. Haha!

And they remove Portuguese from Translate, replacing it with Brazilian Portuguese! Really? REALLY? CockSucking Motherfuckers! On Monday, Google Maps has received a makeover with 700 trillion pixels of new data added to the service.
"The new map, which activates this week for all users of Google Maps and Google Earth, consists of orbital imagery that is newer, more detailed, and of higher contrast than the previous version. Most importantly, this new map contains fewer clouds than before -- only the second time Google has unveiled a "cloudless" map. Google had not updated its low- and medium- resolution satellite map in three years..."
