wait... breathe deeply before you do this...
Any client or boss who:
1. wants a 14 page brochure
2. wants you to resize it that muchis probably in need of a deep breathing excercise and a certain amount of calm patience before you actually do anything, as the size or page count may suddenly change again! Be careful here...

Ok... I appreciate the help. I have been doing flash/uix/motion/branding for years. I know I need to "know InDesign" I'm just really hating every second I spend in that app. I've tried every new version and I just never spend the time unlearning my photoshop and illustrator "way to do things"
This is the first print piece I have done in years that was more complicated than a front/back flyer or business card. I just don't feel justified in spending the time to learn InDesign. It's not hard, its just enough different from illustrator that it pisses me off in really benign ways.
- Once you learn ID, Illustrator becomes the burden, trust memonospaced
- Fuck, even if it's just the Master Pages alone!monospaced
- If you are willing to take on print work, should you not learn the tools to execute it properly.ETM

So it's going from spreads to individual pages?

How can your design survive beeing "quickly" resized to half the width? looks like you'll have to redo the all thing..

Stop designing 14pg brochures in Illustrator to start.
- MrMackem0
Stop designing 14 page brochures.
Stick to 12 and 16 pages.

why does no one use the right software for anything
- GeorgesII0
whaaaat, didn't even catch that it was in illustrator,
solution:
save every frame as pdf, import into indesign,
start working for real

I still do books in Illustrator and I regret it all the time. I just don't get InDesign!
- it's the simplest of all the apps, toomonospaced
- can't think of anything easier or more elegant for a book than to lay it out in IDmonospaced
- I'm in NYC over New Years. Wanna ring in 2013 teaching me InDesign? I can('t) pay you lots of money!orrinward2
- hahaha, I might be home in CA for this time, but if we cross paths I can show you the ropesmonospaced

@orrinward2
just watch the videos at theindesigner.com
best tutorials ever for ID, and they're free.
Trust me, a whole new world will open for you.- Well I guess I have no excuses now...orrinward2
- I did a 52 page programme for Oxford Uni a few years ago all in Illustrator. Was a fucking nightmare.orrinward2

Fair play, I can hardly use Illustrator for what it is intended for... why on EARTH would someone choose to use it for a multipage booklet?!

- i_monk0
Just tell them to fold it in half.
