"The voters have spoken and we have to respect their will," Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper said in a written statement released by his office. "This will be a complicated process, but we intend to follow through. That said, federal law still says marijuana is an illegal drug so don't break out the Cheetos or gold fish too quickly."
"One ounce of marijuana will be legal as of Dec. 6, and the state will begin a year-long process of creating a closed, tightly regulated and heavily taxed market for recreational marijuana sales at state-licensed retail shops."
- "heavily taxed" being the key words. i don't even smoke weed and think this has been such an obvious solution for so many broke state governments.lvl_13
- broke state government entities.lvl_13
- 15% is twice as high as the tax on other products. if the price goes down though, still cheaper than the streetalbums
If its legal to have coffee shop amsterdam style. would be nice to open one up...
Cheetos sound amazing right now!
Smoke em if you got em
Can u still get a DUI if you have mary jane in your system and are in a car accident. I saw someone get hosed for this even though he wasn't high and smoked like a week prior.
vote for legal crack in 2016!!!!
if they tax the crap out of it (and is sounds like they will, 25%x3 =~95% tax), won't that just make drug dealers the 'cheap source' for weed?
Anyone else read the titles "lo" as b?
As in "Marijuana Legal in Cobra".
How sad is it that a flyover state is more progressive about weed than Canada? The only reason it's illegal here is because you guys throw a hissy fit whenever someone up here talks about decriminalization.
yup come on Pa!
delaware , new jersey and new york medical weed id legal!
its a good experiment with 2 states that could lead the way for legal weed across the nation.
It's open to question what actually happens since weed is still illegal under federal law.
