props to you for trying to give it another chance man, wow!I see a backstreet boy on every page of the site and it completely destroys my drive to even give it a chance. I rather give a second chance to google plus. I'm sure my timberlake is a really nice guy and he deserves all the success he has way more than kanye west or snooki, but I just can't connect with that.
In my opinion, they should have change the name of the company (it was not only a design issue but a brand name getting past its expiration date) keep the resources and stay away from bringing just one face to the product, you are automatically restricting your audience just to timberlake fans now. that's my opinion at least, the site looks nice, it already has a network but I think it will take a lot of change in order for it to make a comeback.

Is it me, or is it broken a lot?
I've been in twice since i signed up and both times its let me to a dead page. Can't see why i would really want to use this, even if the design is loads better. There's no incentive to come back.
- You need an incentive? How about the sole purpose of MySpace isn't to data mine you to all hell.albums
- for the meantime it isn't. But no-one realised facebook was going to do that when they first startedWeLoveNoise

*giggles at the idea of signing into myspace... using facebook... :)

created a new profile, looking really good actually...

who ever thought that I'd want to leave fb for myspace? I think it rules

They would have been better off renaming it and being the new kid. Everyone thinks they are cool when they find out about that "new thing" or trend and wants to share. It looks to have promise and the name is an anchor.
- nah because it would STILL BE FROM MYSPACE. people would still associate the two.sublocked
- not if they marketed it without any reference to myspace. a few would know, but the unwashed masses wouldn't.Amicus
- i think more people will check it out simply because it's "the new myspace" rather than "some other social network"sublocked
- plus everything is known now. there's not the "few", there's the "internet". word would get around.sublocked
- How we use the internet and the circle of info we encompass is vastly different from 'regular' people.ETM
- I know my brother, both sisters, mother and father have no idea.ETM

This is like running into your crazy hag of an ex girlfriend who spent a a few years working out and had a lot of work ton. But deep down inside? Still your ex girlfriend. Still crazy.

Yup. People are fickle. Look at the negativity towards Apple these days. Don't feed people new shiny shit, they get bored and move on. Myspace is old, no matter what they do - only way out is some kind of genius marketing campaign.

Myspace looks nice yes, but it's done.
People are looking FORWARD to something else, google plus was promising but didn't work. Myspace put a great effort on design, but they should've changed the name. I see it really hard for anyone to go back to a site that became the target of 'outdated technology jokes' all over.I can see instagram taking over facebook, but since they are now the same thing, not sure what that means.
- yeah but myspace still has a name...relaunching it is gonna get them more press i thinksublocked

Anyone on here yet but me? I like it. Pretty.
- Have they started sending invites?Nathan_Adams
- yeah...might have got mine early because i know someone who works there thoughsublocked

I think this lacks what Myspace was all about: let the user create HIS space, the only thing I saw they let you customize is the background photo with the annoying layered interface... this attempt feels so coward and insipid to me... so this is yet another facebook without the facebook and a new myspace without the myspace... don't buy.

Jacob Neilson is not going to like this site.

That video needs more Timberlake.

I much prefer communicating with my friends directly, on a one to one (or possibly small groups in small emails etc).
What I would like is a list of my actual friends (ie people who I talk to and see pretty often, as well as family around the world) and when I last contacted them.
That way I could be prompted to keep up communications, rather than just firing random stuff into the ether for all to see

Huge all singing socia media sites are on the way out now... already a big Facebook backlash.
Social media is useful for the individual in smaller clever apps.
Facebook is just a big advertising tool now. I doubt it will have half as many users in 5 years.
I don't think there is a need or want for another.

Nice promo for Justin Timberlake to remind people he's still alive though.

It doesn't matter (that much) what it looks like. It's what it does, how relevant it is and how it plugs in to your life.
- My point exactly.Horp
- the video shows its relevance pretty well, in my opinionmonospaced

I think it looks really nice, much better than their last attempt at re-invention. Its clearly here now to try and wrest back some of the disinterested Facebook fall off, but I doubt they'll see a reversal of fortune. People are growing naturally tired of social networking. They don't want another one, or a return to one that they abandoned, they want less, and more real life relevance.

nice.. looks good enough to make a come back
