it's so hard to believe that someone who's "not doping" will win over all others who's actually on shit.

^ They don't mega-dope. If they take anything, it's a small amount, in hopes to gain a slight edge while still leaving open the possibility of passing the dope test. Sometimes this edge isn't enough. Lance is physiologically built for this sport, genetically more so than most pros. 33% larger heart & 33% larger lungs, amazing lactic acid threshold and VO2 max. Many pro cyclists are like this, but Lance always had some of the best testing results in the lab.
His VO2 max is 85 milliliters of oxygen per kilogram of body weight per minute. An average untrained person has a VO2 max of 45 and with training can get it to 60. Lance would be 60 if he was a couch potato and never trained. For the average person, their ceiling is Lance's basement.

^ that's certainly what they tell you.
you also don't just dope a "little". you have to train on the meds in order to get the benefit of it. so it's non-stop hip hop. Look, Lance is king of the pimps. He was better than the other dopers and an incredible cyclist. He just wasn't clean, except in a sort of Bill Clinton way.

MrA, How do you know he wasn't clean? Where's your evidence? A bunch of old bitter riders (proven liars) that got caught cheating and are willing to take down another rider to make themselves feel better?
I get more satisfaction in giving someone the benefit of the doubt, rather than from tearing someone down based on some wishy washy claims and lack of hard evidence.

Lance is my cycling hero.

The United States Anti-Doping Agency said Wednesday that Lance Armstrong was at the center of the most sophisticated and professional doping program in recent sports history and that it would soon release details of its findings.

They all take drugs, that the trainers say are legal etc. But the drugs are instead just ahead of the curve. For him to complain is idiotic. You need to stand up for your image of course, but he knew what he was doing.

So, do they have proof(s) or not?

so, do you think it would ever be possible for these guys to ride the tour without using anything to recover each day? I mean, i know they are super strong, but they need something to make it so they can turn around and do another mind blowing ride day after day.
- Ask the early 20th century competitors. There's your answer.waterhouse
- (Yes.)waterhouse
- I just asked them and I got no answer.capn_ron
- they were all high on opium and coke probablylambsy
- either way, high or not i know it must hurt the body so bad to put it through that much punishment.capn_ron

Maybe we should just embrace it. Drugs are just another human achievement, like cycling.
- i_monk0
They should have an Olympics-style competition for performance enhanced athletes – no limits.

i_monk,
Been there, done that: http://www.hulu.com/watch/124975…

Don't really care if he's guilty or not but it's also a damning indictment on the USDA that he's never tested positive.
- and that the USda is trying to take away the tour DE FRANCE.
mikotondria3 - And here I thought they were trying to regulate agriculture.defstro

Even more damning is why the same department that regulates argiculture also regulates doping...just another example of big government gone wrong.
- Okay then, go buy your meat from Congo. No regulation there, no government to bother you either.utopian
- it's the USADA. a different agency.
