  I met my wife on eHarmony and we have a baby on the way in november. It was the best $40 I've ever spent.

  The only advise I would give is dont play any games, if you are on a service like eHarmony most likely you both are tired of the typical bs and just want to meet someone real.

  I did a bit of online dating 3 years ago. I met no-one that I could see a long-lasting relationship with. A few of the girls were perfectly nice but we didn't gel, but I had a few very awkward dates.

  One in particular was really disappointing as we'd spoken online for a few weeks and she was really nice and we joked about and got on well, then in person she barely said a word the whole night. She warned me she gets nervous but she was vegetable quiet the whole evening.

  "Excellent, I'm studying design too, did you see the Moholy-Nagy exhibit at the Tate?"

  It was weird, she'd seen my picture and she swooped in for the goodnight kiss but she just said nothing the whole fucking meal, and we were always chatting like crazy online.

  I never did AFF but a friend of mine in the States uses it and has a crazy time.

  My missus did Seeking Arrangement for a little while (while we were together, and we still are), which was interesting. She only met one guy from there as a friend and he paid her like £400 for a painting and offered to pay for her final years tuition, no strings attached. It's interesting that there are some people with loads of money who just want to give some to someone else and see a change in their life. She didn't accept but that was kind of neat.

  Don't pay for shit. OkCupid is as good or better than the pay sites. Secondly and most importantly, scrutinize the shit out of the photos.

  I've found a disturbing trend of women posting up old ass pictures of full body shots mixed with newer face shots. If something seems fishy, it probably is. Also, no full body shots is a massive warning. Just keep going. Never trust the "body type" field.

  Other than that, it's been pretty good. Better than expected to be honest.

  I went on 2 Online Dates in my life. Both were over ten years ago but here they are.
  Date with girl #1. Saw her pic, talked on the phone, she seemed cool, liked decent music so we set up a date. She was pretty but was wearing an official winnie the pooh denim jacket and matching earings in a non ironic way. Had one drink and bolted.
  Date with Girl #2. Met at a coffee shop and she was smoking hot. Went to her car and made out until she started crying and then asked me to go to her next class with her so she could show me off to her ex boyfriend. Needless to say I quickly bolted out of that situation too.
