client wants to upload an video to youtube.
now he only has acquired the rights to show the content in 1 country.as youtube user you can't limit access to videos to a certain region.
I'm looking for informations on how to achieve this, but no luck till now.
do you know anything about this?
tnx!

'The Geo/Local blocking is done through CMS. You would need to have access to a full CMS account, have your YouTube account linked to that CMS account and have claimed the content within CMS. Once you've done that then you can either set up geo blocks in CMS or go to the video manager find the claimed video and choose "Block Country" and then choose individual countries to allow or block, or block or allow all but a few countries.'
- Its not valid for those who know to use a proxy tunnel to browse content.yurimon

You wouldn't have that kind of control on YouTube, all you can do is make the video private and, as i_monk has said, set up a redirect for any ip addresses that our outside of the target country using something like GeolocationAPI http://code.google.com/p/gears/w…

I wonder if google's new algorithm will downrank youtube in its search and follow its own because of its "too many valid DMCA takedown notices"?
