I was thinking about if I won the lottery.
I'd buy up industrial spaces in London and New York (Hackney & Bushwick) and make them into serviced dorms. Put a bar / café in the ground floor and some simple studios. Then I'd offer rooms to recent creative graduates on internships (provided they had proof of employment). In return for a lodging they would work in the bar, clean the space, be on front desk etc etc etc so the place would run itself. Basically offer people a chance to work in these cities and make a break for themselves, even if they don't have super rich parents. I'd ideally turn these places into creative centers, have people come in to do lectures, partnerships with colleges etc.
I think it's a fucking good idea! Just need that lottery win (or crazy investment!).
