Hello qoobs, I'm researching a new logo/brand project for a startup web development company.
I'm looking for examples of companies/individuals who primarily write code but don't come across as too nerdy/propellorhead in their identity.
In terms of output, the startup wants to balance contracting out to other startups and businesses with work on open source, personal things and ultimately build their own apps, products and frameworks. There's also a desire to collaborate with others in that modern hive-mind collective way.
I'm trying to avoid phrases like 'cool' and 'bit of attitude' and comparisons such as more Apple than Microsoft, and more Rockstar then EA, but it's too late.
Sorry for waffle. Any ideas?

Cheers, not looking for a name though, just anyone doing something decent, identity-wise in modern web development.

hmm.. consider that as a developer, your target market may be designers... .so you can do 2 things, kind of like video post production houses...
1. come up with a name that's cool and will never fly past a consumer clients focus group...i.e. you can call yourself something like "WorldWide Pants Productions"
2. be aware that many designers may WANT to do a logo for you, as you're cool, and not like, say Proctor and Gamble, where the logo has to be okayed by focus group hell, so you can have a fun logo...
and be aware, your logo isn't nearly as important as your project list, client list,etc...
- Thanks, but I'm designing it for the developer, and they have a name but negotiating the .comMrT
