I thought long and hard about the retina display, but decided not to go for it.

The issue was mostly the price, as getting a retina display with the specs I wanted was going to cost almost a grand more than getting a non-retina factory refurb model with similar power. So in the end I opted for the factory refurb and some cash in my pocket (cash that I didn't really have to begin with anyway).

But then my refurb MBP arrived and the metal casing was slightly warped and the thing wouldn't sit flat on my desk. So I returned it and now I'm back to the drawing board. Apple was really good about the return process though.

This was my first ever Mac, and I'm not positive if I'm going to order another MBP or one of the sexy new Vizio laptops: http://www.vizio.com/notebook/ov….

The one week I spent with my MBP before I returned it was a very frustrating one coming from the PC world, but I guess that's to be expected if I'm breaking habits that are almost 20 years old.
