we've got some tax laws here in Tn that are not so common.
our accountant specializes in small business, start-ups, and freelancers here.
we made a lot of assumptions starting out (innocently thinking that what we were doing was right, based on 'common knowledge'), that thankfully he fixed within our first year and has saved us a lot of time and money ever since. let me know if you'd want his info...

Depends.
Depends if you're filing as an individual or as a business. You can say your work is done as a business, but unless you've set yourself up as business business (i.e. licenses, incorporation, etc.) you may find yourself in fogginess...fogginess the IRS doesn't care for, and if the IRS doesn't care for it, they make sure you don't care for it either.
Keep in mind this advice is coming from someone who has an art degree and passed college algebra in part because the teacher was benevolent.
I'd recommend you take @bjladams up on the offer. Much like you wouldn't speed-dial an accountant for journalism or design advice, I'd venture to say the reverse applies in this case. Good luck and don't let the tax bastards get you down.
- Meant to echo monospaced...SSN can suffice depending on which route you go.hellobotto
