Hey everyone,
I know there have been some post about billing software and online platforms, but I'm looking for some advice for something that is cheap or even free.
I have been looking into platforms like

I have been using and enjoying Project Bubble. And $12 isn't bad at all.
But something free or software not online based would be great.
I know I'll have to pay for something that works well, but I also know QBNERS know all the best stuff out there. Beats random googling any day :)

^^Does iBiz also have an app to work from your phone?
Looks pretty nice, and $39.99 is not bad at all for one time.

I've used Billings as well and it's ok.
I wasn't a fan of how it links payments with invoices, and the reports where not great and somewhat difficult to get what I was looking for.

So Miguex.... you would say that iBiz without an app is better than Harvest?
I like the idea of purchasing software once... but I also like the idea of having an App to add projects, task, track time and so on.

I have to use harvest on one of the agencies I freelance at, to me, it feels like and excel spreadsheet.
there's another agency that i work at, they use something called PM tools, its online too, looks better than harvest, you are a designer chances are you are not going to like harvest.
The good thing about the online/ cloud system is that you can access it from your laptop or desktop you know?
Someone posted one that was online only, and looked really nice, but I never gave it a chance because there was a monthly fee.
I can't remember the name, but it was targeting creative professionals...

I know what you mean Miguex.
Harvest looked nice, but I didn't like that I would have to list services more as a product.
Found one called Paymo, but the app is really limited as far as managing task and accounts. So my search continues.

Ive been looking into this a bit over the last year or so and always come back to my big ugly whiteboard (for project/task managements anyway).
A few off-line ones ive looked at include:
Studiometry
Daylite
Relationship
OmniplanAll of these fall short in one way or another. A common problem seems to be that they are all so long winded, meaning task management becomes a task itself. So, I use Omniplan for managing bigger projects, a whiteboard on the studio wall for pretty much everything else and Freeagent for invoicing.
For the time being, works for me.

I heard that http://www.freshbooks.com/ is good.
But, again, not free.

So I've looked into Stuidocloud, and it doesn't look bad at all. Problem is that it doesn't seem like I would be able to expand on studio cloud if and when I get busier, and there isn't an iPhone app to manage things on the go.
I checked out Studiometry and Daylite, and both of these seem really nice, but they require a yearly license for use of the apps :/ that doesn't sound very cool.
Again I do understand, in order to get something that works and is effective, I'll probably have to pay some cash. But all these suggestions are really helping me narrow down my choices.
Thanks everyone!
