Anyone by chance have an idea why a website setup in IIS and bound to a unique IP and port 80 fails to respond to the IP in a browser?
http://[siteipaddress] just yields a 404.
Also tried http://[siteipaddress]:80

Problems with DNS/Host?
If it is local machine, you need host entry 127.0.0.1 hostheader. If it is visible from outside, it looks like a dns problem.

There is an index file but there is no DNS entry for this, it's a old version/server of a site, but I need to reference some of the content during the transition. I'll try changing the host header to 127.0.0.1 and see what happens. Thanks.
- Ahh... I didn't have a generic port 80 binding, only to the domain, that was the issue.ETM
