Deadline reports that "Idlewild" director Bryan Barber is looking to adapt the scrappy 1960s anime into a film -- and he already has the space-age robot at his command. According to the site, "Barber controls the movie, merchandise and videogame rights, and will shop a $60 million live action film he calls 'Transformers' meets 'Goonies.' And guess who'll be attached as director?"
