- Exactly the same as Apple then... which every Flash developer whines aboutanimatedgif

yea, i don't care what you say, i never seen a substitute for vector animation. html5 and other shit just do automatic programatic animation, so this whole anti-flash thing is just dumb.. make a better battery fuck the plannet

But really 90% of the stuff people call HTML5 is just regular HTML and JavaScript. You haven't seen the actual Flash replacement technologies used yet in any big way.
- < Pretty much this.Continuity
- i've seen some chrome experiments, with 3d and shit, but still, all programatic movementsfeel
- and evidently the cool webGL stuff is getting scrapped.
canvas is nice though, if a bit slow @ larger sizesmonNom

None else except Georges read that as a tablet only thing?
And by plugins they mean -all- plugins. Not just flash.
For their tablet.
Also, wasn't there another thread on this article the other day?- * Stays flashyPeter
- We caught the tablet thing; but it's still only a matter of time until Flash is phased out from desktops, too.Continuity

I have worked on several projects with silverlight and windows mobile for MS that were a complete failure.
We were trying to bring games [4 different extremely popular games] onto the windows mobile platform using silverlight and the plug was pulled due to the fact that the processor could not handle smooth gameplay.
I am not surprised they pulled the plug on flash & silverlight. I was very surprised when I first opened netflix and saw that they were using silverlight.
At this point who misses flash while browsing on a phone or tablet?
- html5 mate,
the way to go
GeorgesII - I have flash on my phone, don't you?i_monk
- Silverlight should never have been allowed to live in the first place.Continuity
- I think Netflix used silverlight due to the DRM keeping movie studio's happy....vaxorcist
