I'd really like to play with the thing and see what it can do. But I also don't see what the point is aside from just eliminating the step of having to scan your line. But that step is now replaced with this new software that transfers it into your image-app of choice. So, the difference will be in how it looks in the end. At least, that's what I hope.

let me know when the ballpoint pen strokes become vector stokes in illustrator or corel
- the vectors this creates aren't compatible with AI?dopepope
- i don't know if it will create solids or strokes yet, i fear it being a proprietary img formatregiste
- it definitely shows it being compatible with AI, PS and Sb in the video.dopepope
- i see that but wonder if each stroke is it's own item, how it will deal with fills etcregiste
- all strokes grouped into 1 layer or your drawing is flattened into it's own live trace outputregiste
- I see. interesting tho. could be awesome, could be dog shit.dopepope
- i think it's rad and hope for strokes, that way we can delete ones we don't wantregiste

- You'd think for a product aimed at creatives, they could have put a bit more finesse into the softwareNathan_Adams
- Instead it looks like "my first visual basic program"Nathan_Adams

Why can't they do a graphite option, the fucks.
Also,
1. can you draw with it remotely, then upload to the computer later, or does it have to be connected to the computer to work in the first place?
1a. If you CAN use the pen/console remotely then upload later, how much data does it store?
1a(i). How many drawings will it store?
2. What's the drawing range / maximum size of paper you can draw on?
3. What is the file format? Greyscale? RGB? Bitmap? what resolution?
4. Can you go back to sketches and work on them more?
5. can you work on irregular surfaces? textured surfaces? round surfaces, corners?
6. If you have a little magnet in the other hand, can you wang the drawing as you do it like if you put a magnet next to a CRT TV screen?
7. I can only think of six question.
- I'm really fucking askin' here. Help me, you fucks. Tell me the answers so that I may be lazy.Horp
- "7. I can only think of six question." fucking lolmcmillions
- p.s. max paper size: A4

The bitmap resolution of the sketches is 600 dpi. That's good news.

Here's the thing about vector lines, they're really hard to make look nice. I've never been able to get them where they need to be without tweaking them with the pen tool... so unless this magically has a really nice stroke engine, I see this as totally useless. It's possible to have a nice stroke engine for linework, Sketchbook Pro has one... but it's the only one I know of that hits the sweet spot between user input and streamlining. I'm very skeptical Wacom can pull this off.
I hope there is an option to record line data as a dead line -without the pressure effecting the width of the stroke- because that's about the only way I can see getting usable vectors out of this thing.
It's certainly exciting new tech, and it makes me hopeful for future universal digitizer pens. I just can't help but feel that these will be collecting dust almost immediately.
