Hi guys,
We've received a lot of pictures like the sample here (with white background ...) and we need to cut out all the products including the mirror reflection. I don't want to recreate a reflection effect, but I have to isolate the existing one. The product would be cut out with path, and the reflects should be "transparent".Thanks anyway.
(Apologizes for my bad grammar, but I am used to speak french)

not exactly sure how exactly you want to apply reflection transparency to the layer below. but you could try "multiply" blending mode on the reflection layer overlayed with a cutout of the main object in "normal" mode.
this way the white will let any colour from below through and the object itself won't change.

Actually it need to be save in png. And the reflects should transparent.
So the multiply blending mode doesn't not work but thanks.

I guess It'll be faster to cut and redo the reflection

The bottom of the product is not always "flat" and frontal but distorted by the perspective. So I can't reproduce (quickly) a realistic reflection.
(If you understand what I mean)

you could try this:
select all and copy, create new channel (alpha), paste,
in layers, create a selection around the object (without the reflection, I recommend creating a path) - use this selection in the alpha channel and fill it black, then invert the alpha channel. your alpha channel should now show a 100% white object shape on a black background with a grey gradiant reflection.use the alphachannel to make a selection (you will have to adjust brightness/contrast on the alphachannel before in order to get close to the same level of reflection as in the original image), go back to layers (make sure you are back on the RGB channel) and copy paste. then delete the original background layer and save as PNG
result should look something like this:
- instead of playing around with brightness/contrast on the alpha channel, it should also work if you just use the inverted selection of the cutout path on the background layer and fill it blackd_gitale
- < this, learn it once and never forget... incredibly handy technique.kingsteven
- cut-out selection and fill it black (on the background layer), before creating a selection using the alpha channeld_gitale

you can load the reflection from the channels, invert the selection and delete the surrounding white. as there are gradients you will delete parts of the reflection too, but you can re-build the density afterward by duplicating the layer and merging them. plus you might have to paint some suitable colour back into the soft outlines if they still contain unwanted white. (lock layer transparency and set brush to darken).

Yep, just tested it, its better to fill everything around the object shape with black, then use the alpha channel to create a selection and proceed as described above.
just make sure your cut-out path for the object is as precise as possible to avoid blackish outlines, I was a bit sloppy and it looks like this:

Thanks for your help !
@arne I will try something like you said adjusting the darkness.
I need a process that can be automatized by an action.
- d_gitale0
if the original already has a cut-out path, this should work with actions...
- Unfortunately there's no cut-out path. But I already knew that I will have to do that. The tricky part is the reflections.dasmeteor
- drawing the path is most likely the more time consuming, compared to creating the alphachannel as describedd_gitale
- once you get the hang of it, shouldnt take more than 3 minutes to create the alpha channeld_gitale

Cut out the object with pen tool, not including the reflection.
Then recreate the reflection (using layer mask), save as PNG.
Recreating the reflection takes about 10 seconds.
