Hope this thread catches on.
I'll start with some surfing evolution or should I say revolution.

As I said in the first post these are catching on right now among shapers. They are called Alaia boards, they are basically a thin piece of wood, built like the boards found to be used 1000 years ago in ancient Polynesia. Using all environmentally safe products of course.
Has anyone heard of "The Butterknife?" He's a legend surfer in these parts and even has a spot called "Butterknife Cove" named after him.

Live feed from the Billabong teahupoo contest. Some huge waves in the first heat today - already a broken board. And it's building fast. The forecast is calling for 15' today and building to 25' tomorrow. Best of luck to all those in the water, this is looking serious.
