went balls out and saw this in Imax 3D
It is exactly what you would expect from a Marvel super hero movie.
That last battle is over the top and thoroughly entertaining. The film as a whole was enjoyable as well.
Are you going to be mentally challenged or emotionally moved? no.
will you be entertained? without a doubt.
If you haven't seen Thor - you should watch that before you go see this.

this was pretty entertaining. it's very comic book-y as opposed to going the dark knight route, but i didn't mind. some of the dialogue was overly cheesy but then i realized "fuck this is the avengers, who cares?"
to me, the banter was the best part.
8.5/10.

Just saw it. I thought it was very good. You can't really expect much more from a comic book movie with so many characters in it.
It's pretty much the exact opposite of the newer Batman movies, which although I like a lot, I can barely even look at them as comic book movies. I know they're closely based on a lot of the Jeph Loeb stuff, but I look at them as more like normal movies, like the movie Heat, except with Batman thrown in there.
Avengers on the other hand doesn't try to be that at all, and if you liked some of the previous Marvel movies it's just impossible not to like this as far as I'm concerned.

I really enjoyed it.
Very witty with loads of laugh-out-loud moments.
The bit with Loki and The Hulk had everyone in the cinema laughing for ages.

It was good although I got stuck at one moment where Loki went a little philosophical and explained the hypocrisy behind the term 'freedom'. I believe he is right as his thinking aligns with Spinoza's determinism.
"That humans presume themselves to have free will, is a result of their awareness of appetites while being unable to understand the reasons why they want and act as they do."
So for him, human behaviour is fully determined, with freedom being our capacity to know we are determined and to understand why we act as we do. So freedom is not the possibility to say "no" to what happens to us but the possibility to say "yes" and fully understand why things should necessarily happen that way. And we can only understand once we recognize the power that determines and bow down to it.

I want my money back. IT IS SHIT.
The CGI is pretty impressive, but the storyline is non existent.Any one of the X-men films is about 5 times better than this.
