Sounds really interesting.
Would love to know more about your marketing efforts and how you'll gain traction.
Much success to you.

best of luck!

Good luck, Boz. I do remember reading somewhere that to actually get a million dollar app the numbers are stacked against you. By that I mean astronomically high downloads. I like that you're attempting this though, especially multiple platforms.
Good read about success in app building:

Rock out!

That's ambitiously awesome dude, I wish you the best of luck. Put me down for 1 x iPhone app once it's released, no matter what it is.

Make sure to keep that Lil Wayne song on repeat for the three months.

Good idea.
- Dodecahedron0
yeah but... what is the idea?
1. make social networking app.
2. ??????
3. 1 million $$$$- well I'll build it, make a simple website, do the normal, nothing fancy marketing for it.. using the free tools.Boz
- i should have put the question marks before the 'make social netoworking app'Dodecahedron
- Boz0
yeah.. I don't want it to be anything like super mindblowing that takes me 5 months to build and needs $15-$20k investment.
The idea is to make something simple, make it pretty, make it useful and to make it really serve as wide as range of an audience as possible..
Sell it cheap, publish to every single possible platform and I'm curious to see whether I can make a million in a few months..

That is awesome. I wish you the best. No joke.

This is great. I wonder why everyone doesn't label this as spam.

Boz, since you encouraged us to share our ideas...seems to me the hard part will not be so much building the app but getting the word out. I have no doubt you can create an app in a few weeks if you put your mind to it, a great one even. But how do you attract the "hits" needed to make millions?
- it is a puzzler.. this is what it will take a month or two or whatever.. you are right.Boz

The idea is to invest $0 except utilizing my own creatiivity, coding or whatever is needed.. publish it to the largest audience I can.. and see how it goes..
I've been always curious whether I can do it,especially with the growth of Adobe tools because I can build stuff with those tools in weeks and not months and publish to each platform thus doubling the audience.
I am strong believer that you don't necessarily have to make stuff super original in mobile space to be successful, you just look at what's out there, make it nicer, better even more useful and publish like that..and of course, if I can get it to market and somehow make it an "in" app, this will make it happen a lot faster..
We'll see.. the interesting thing is that failure in this case is really nothing.. no loss, but if I succeed, I got a million bucks :)
- this is not to say that I don't like crazy cool original ideas.. but for this experiment is to see how easy it is to make a million bucks.Boz
- And of course you could "fail" and only make 10k or something:)ukit
- or impossibleBoz
- True, you don't need an original idea, or ultimate 'killer app'. Viral and entertaining is key I think.BuddhaHat

You can build a great app using www.wiziapp.com

Hustlin. Interested to see where this goes.

I'll give you an example..
I've built this to help me generate 3d covers for my PS3 Media Server..
http://www.worldinhidef.com/ps3m…
I am getting about 300-1000 hits a day and it really does such a simple thing.. and I get emails people asking to give me money.. and I built it in 4 hours with the Amazon API and all..
So making a mobile app that looks nicer in a few weeks and is usefull shouldn't be a big problem I think.

Interesting to see someone put Adobe's "build it once, publish everywhere" claims to the test.
- BuddhaHat0
I know thisarticle relates mostly to unpaid social media apps desgned on generating advertising profits, but given you're looking at an app in the social media spectrum, it still might be an interesting read.
- Boz0
The idea is already figured out.. I'm collecting data and information and otehr stuff that goes into the app..
When I get into beta i'll start sharing screenshots.
