iphone/ new laptop synch

Is there a way to transfer the current contents of my iPhone to a new laptop before I erase/ re-synch my phone with it?
I fear that I will loose tons of contacts, apps and songs.

I just synced my iPod touch with a new laptop and everything transferred over just fine (notes/music/photos/apps), even the songs that I didn't purchase through the apple store. Actually I had to do it twice because the MBP that I bought had to be returned/swapped 2 days later...

- No, but you know my computer was brand freakin new, and itunes asked me if I wanted to transfer my purchases to the new computer.visual_infection

add a contact to the address book on the new machine before the new sync, that way it will prompt to merge instead of swiping off your phone contacts. wouldn't hurt to sync with google.
