Hey guys
I designed a form for a client that needs to be a pdf form as well. Which I have already created.
Heres my problem:
I would like the client to be able to take the pdf I created in acrobat pro and fill it out using acrobat reader and be able to fill out the form, save pdf, print it and also email it to their clients...
The tricky part is this, I would like to find a way for my client to be able to save a copy of the completed form and send a version to their clients that cant be edited.
Does anyone know how to do this or have had experience with a similar situation?
any advice would be greatly appreciated.
thanks!

create a pdf. add fields with the editing tools. there's a special function you can add to a submit button that basically creates and fdf of the data and auto creates an outlook email and attaches the fdf to it. the recipient receives an fdf, opens it, it looks for the pdf (online) and auto fills the pdf on their end. they can delete or add more info as desired; print it out.

hmmmm... not sure thats what im looking for...
heres how i would like it to go down:
- my client has acrobat reader.
- He has a pdf quote form I have created for him.
- He will fill out the form with his quote info.
- He will then save the pdf with the new added information
- He will then email it to his client
- The client will not be able to alter any of the quote infocan this be done with your method or any other?

you'll need to find an app that the client can use to secure a pdf. or they can just get acrobat pro.

maybe they can send an fdf file (generated by an open pdf) to the client that's set to look for the corresponding pdf (online) that is pre-secured and view-only?

maybe you give the client two pdfs. exactly the same except one is secured and one is not. client fills out open one and creates an fdf. emails client the fdf and the secure pdf (w/ same filename), tells clients to open fdf which auto opens the secure pdf with the info filled out - locally.

the thing is though, an fdf is really just a text file and can be edited by the client. maybe have this done in a way that the client has a directory on their site with a pdf. they create an fdf with a local version of the pdf and upload the fdf with a simple uploader to the same directory as the secured pdf online -- send the client a link to that fdf which opens the pdf in a browser. they can't modify the fdf or the pdf in that case (on a server) and they can print the pdf from the browser. haven't tried this just thinking out loud....

Ok, here's the trick. Set up your form. When you're all done, go to the Advanced menu and select "Extend Featured in Adobe Reader." Unless you do this, they can't save their changes. Once you complete this step, you will have exactly what you want. Cheers!!!

Does your client have MS Office? Just make a Word Template form instead and have the client save as PDF from Word before sending to client. The form fields will then be removed (non-interactive) and the only way to even try to edit it would be with Acro pro and the advanced editing tools.
