The reason batman begins worked is because it was relatively subtle and character driven. the reason people like batman is because they like the idea of a normal human with unlimited resources getting access to gadgets that make him a badass, and alot of us really really like when all the elements of the story have semi realistic explanations. In Batman Begins it was awesome as hell when sandman got sprayed with his own hallucinogen and then saw batman as a demon, because the premise was relatable but still fantasy/comic bookish.
dark knight started moving away from that with harvey dent and the ridiculous face they put on him and the "gotham needs the hero it deserves" bs. Give us crazy rich white guy, ninja training, military gear, stringing up mob bosses. start there and don't go too far.

Catwoman is not that camp. She has a pretty unique role in the batman mythos and good for character dev. She is at times a bit of an anti-hero and has always been great at toying with Batman and actually getting to him on an emotional level. But its hard to convey the nuances of their complicated relationship in one movie.

I like how everyone assumes that catwoman will be alive for some supernatural reason, or bane is mega huge for supernatural reasons.
They arent going to handle either villain like that in these new films. They could have easily made scarecrow ridiculous like he is in the comics, but they didnt. They'll take a realistic approach to both characters and it will be fine.

the dark knight rises, and he gets dizzy and has to sit down really quick.
ann hathaway is such a bad choice. i like nolan, but he has really done a poor job at casting female leads in these films. admittedly, it doesn't help that i think she looks like butt.

Rumor is that Marion Cotillard turned down the roles of Catwoman and Talia al Ghul.

I think, as far as Bane goes, we're not going to get any CG what so ever. The actor might buff up, but they aren't going to portray him as the hulking monstrosity he is in the comics. In my opinion, the character isn't half as interesting without that tho, so I'm not that interested in either of these bad guys. But the director is 2 for 2 with these so let's see what he does.

Noone thought Heath Ledger would be a good Joker, so Im not worried about the casting. What I am curious about is Bane. The only thing interesting about that character is him bulking up due to Venom, but that doesnt seem like something that would work in Nolan's realistic take on Batman.
They'll figure something out though Im sure.
