Hi! Everyone,
I am wondering if anyone would be kind enough to give me a critique on my portfolio site I recently re-did.
Much appreciated.

hey stan, that's neat. i like it.
- honestIy0
no ability to direct link anything. i don't like that

nice and clean...i like it. the copy is pretty dark on my screens though (cinema display). i think the menu items would look better with a lot more contrast.
i also prefer the copy sans the drop shadow. i think it fits the theme of the site better. the drop shadow on the text seems arbitrary and forced.
lastly, i'm not crazy about the decorative green elements. the shade seems kind of boring and dull.
overall i think it's a solid site though, well done!
- just going through the notes.
It was very helpful. Reducing collors to just yellow for highlights and blue for clickable items killing the green. Changing contrast on menu items.stanislav

first off thank you for taking a peek and commenting.
akrokdesign thank you for the kind words.honestIy "no ability to direct link anything. i don't like that" I don't understand. the links are top, then on each section, and then right under work section, are they not prominent enough?
I guess based on what gabe said in the first paragraph that is and issue.
Drop shadow, killing it. actually it was something I was playing around with, on my psd that I uploaded to my drop box and the programmer picked up on it. I was not sure how I felt about them.
Which elements? the actual Process diagram or the small arrows?
All in all this was very helpful, thank you for taking the time to view.

there are no direct link urls to your contact or any of your work sections like url.com/contact or url.com/clientname was what i didn't like

Nice work Stanski-Bop

hmm. I gotcha. I was debating having a direct link to my email because the form was there, and spam bots, although I can always encrypt it.
As for url.com/clientname. I was debating that as well, I figured modal pop up window is better for the end user, at expense of google analytics. Was I wrong?

Thanks utopian.

I think you need to thin out some of the work a bit. There's too much to see, and some of it just isn't portfolio material (though maybe it's a part of a broader project - i.e. the pataya website from 10 years ago.)
try to cut back to say 5-6 big projects with the best materials and supplement the imagery with the story and process, or group pieces by type (print/web/banners/etc.) and show the stuff that really shines.
. once again, some background info would help to sell it. especially if you're making the portfolio theme all about process (you haven't shown any!)The language in the site needs attention. If english isn't your first language, don't be afraid to enlist the help of someone who's it is. Maybe you can do a trade in-kind.
a few technical notes.
on small screens the grey bar at the bottom makes the website feel a bit claustrophobic.
the lightbox close button doesn't work for me on XP/IE8
the laptop on all your web work takes up a lot of real-estate. Consider losing it in favour of larger images of your work. (especially for thumbnails)
I think your process infographic is great, I would have liked to see more good stuff like that surrounding the work and supporting the text.
- killing (all) adding Featured No more than 6 projects per category, Killing Grey bar, looking into close button. Need to update thumbs.

Thanks monNom the work is actually organized by category right under work are buttons, but I think as someone said it earlier it's a bit too dark. So you probably missed that a s a result. I think you're right killing panacya website is a good Idea may make stuff look less dated. As for the text I don't think people read anymore inside the info are when you roll on I in thumbnails they all all fragments, but that was a choice.

What language did you use to code your site? Nice work.
- stanislav0
thanks pinkfloyd, I had a programmer code it in css2 html5 and jquery, with the sliders purchased from slidedeckpro.com and then restyled.

sorry pinkfloyd the actual link is http://www.slidedeck.com/
