can we not have ANY fun? Have these uptight assholes not seen worse in disney movies even?

You don't remember being a kid? The random, otherwise innocent things that terrified you?
When I skimmed this article this morning, I didn't realise it was an animation and I agreed it was a 'bit much'.
But, this thing was animated too?
Not very bright behaviour, imho.
Kids like being scared - but only when they like being scared.
- "inappropriate for display in an untargeted medium". Is key.detritus

Fuck the nanny state and all that but this is pretty scary... think of the children man!!
- georgesIII0
yep, really really scary there.
can you at least take pics of it or is it banned too?
- ali0
that is scary

aah come one there's much scarier stuff out there for the kids plastered all over the place! And loved by the kids.
And they seldom use the tubes anyway. It's just TFL trying to maintain an overly squeaky clean image.

I saw the ad and I thought it was too much. other people seemed freaked out by it too.

i remember as a kid going to DisneyWorld in Florida. My parents (stupidly) dragged me through the haunted house ride. There was something similar to this where you are in this moving compartment/seat thing and you ride by a row of mirrors and when you looked in the mirror, there was an image of a ghost or whatever sitting behind you. Scared the fucking piss out of me for weeks.
Point is, kids don't know it's an ad. So, to them, this painting is actually morphing and turning into that terrifying image. Which then means, to them, that ANY painting could do that. Regardless of how much you tell them it's an ad.
Projectile, i wonder if you have kids? Not that absence of children negates your opinion, but as a parent you get a better understanding of what random things can freak kids out, much less blatantly scary things such as this.
- Get it right people it's called the Haunted Mansion. :)iheartfun

When I was 6, my favorite part of the haunted house was the ghost sitting next to me. Nearly everyone I knew felt the same way.

I'll just leave this last little message for the kids. It actually applies more to the UK..

now that it's banned, the ad will be a huge success.

To expand on how a banned ad, installation or piece of art is more effective...
I had a sculpture class back in art school where we were to choose 3 different fruits/vegetables and cast them in plaster, then alter them in some way. One of my fruits was a banana.
I cast the banana, painted it silver and glued a Nintendo controller to it. I named it the "Diltendo Entertainment System".
For one reason or another, I was asked to remove it from the rest of the installation. Not one to allow censorship, some friends and I created posters for this piece and placed them all over the art center. The posters read something like, "Come see what the administration censored."
I was allowed to hang it on one of the walls of the sculpture studio, alone...
People came in packs, all throughout the week to view the piece.
Censoring often has the opposite effect.
- Should have attached it to a ps2 controller. Dual-shock = vibrator.aanderton
- haha!bulletfactory
- Hindsight ...Continuity
- I used the NES Max controller, while it didn't vibrate, it did have a 'turbo' buttonbulletfactory
