So, Amsterdam Q-Beaners ... I've been trying to get myself to the city for a while now, mailing agencies directly, but that hasn't met with the success I'd like, so I thought I'd try a different route, and ask you guys.
I'd prefer an advertising agency setting but, after ten months of hunting, I'm a bit more flexible. The most recurring theme in this time has been the fact that I'm 'too senior' for what's on offer, in the words of several hiring managers. It's a bit of a pickle, to be sure, but there it is.
Anyway, if anyone knows of anyone hiring, or would like a copy of my CV, let me know.
Cheers!

have you been in to the ones i mentioned above? like physically gone to see them? could be worth doing. i know astrid is leaving soon so she may not be the best to talk to there now. could be worth contacting head of design etc rather than recruiters...
other than that maybe a foot in the door at amsterdam worldwide? lostboys? saatchis? euro scg?

@whereRI
Sadly, no, I haven't been able to see them in person, which is a real problem. Right now, I'm in a small village in Denmark and, by virtue of extended unemployment, haven't got a budget to make trips out there on a whim, unless an agency pays for it. Ergo, I'm forced to do this remotely, and hope for the best. Plus there are visa issues preventing me from just picking up and moving there as I wish.
The long and the short of it is, I'm pretty sure this ten months would have been much, much shorter had I been on the spot for meet-'n'-greets; the reality is I wasn't, 'cos I'd come here to take on what turned out to be a short-term job.
Needless to say, I kind of feel like I'm at my wits' end. :D

shit dude, sorry to hear.
whats the visa issues? were you from canada or something right?
could be tricky.
any chance on writing up a business plan and going freelance here?
maybe get hold of a dutch accountant and checkout your options. could be foot in the door and buy you time to do meet and greets. ive found, especially here, that emails n calls dont do much at all.
lemme know and ill give you my accountants details, could be worth a call.ill keep my ear to the ground...
