I Have a job interview today and was wondering how someone would answer the question "what is your weakness" while making it a positive.

Getting up in the night to write down ideas. My wife hates that.

I'm a perfectionist. I occasionally spend too long at work on detail work and get a little grief from my better half.

I always say "I steal office equipment" with a deadpan.
..if they giggle you know they can't complain when shit goes missing.

too cliche, they won't ask that.
- never assume that. the cliches are cliche because they come round so often.Wolfboy

'lack of self criticism'

Your Answer:
I have a bit of a sweet tooth
Wool pants chaff my legs very easily
I can't go within 200ft of school zones
I don't take critiques very well and have a problem with authority

8 out of 10 times they will ask this... but like most of the gents ^ have already mentioned, respond with something personal rather than professional. This is a great one by sleepyfatso..
"Getting up in the night to write down ideas. My wife hates that. "
I've used ..'I can't say no to my kids when we're at the supermarket' etc... they always move on to the next question with a smile...

here are some good ones for shizzle.
I have to work on having more patience and giving myself a break, because I always want everything done at once.
I am too focused on my work and I need to find more time to relax.
I'm a workaholic person and love to dedicate myself to the work I'm doing. But at the same time I forget to keep a balance between other things which I'm trying to improve on.
I'm overly-friendly
My body is immune to deodorant

the perfectionist answer is as cliche as the question. i answer honestly that i do sometimes get frustrated over small details and that i'm working hard to not waste time on such things.

I remember once in College, my professor was doing test interviews and when I went up... my question was: "How are M&Ms done?"

everyone gives a lame weakness-as-a-strength bullshit answer to this question. people are sick of "i'm a perfectionist" or some other weak-sauce flimsy answer.
i like it when interviewees respond honestly. with a genuine greatest weakness that applies to the job at hand. you might try that.
- i realize now that i generalized "myself" to "people."bigtrickagain
