Quick peer poll...
Who works in project teams (designer, builder, programmer, pm)?
Who works in silos (design team, build team, Techie team)?
And what would you recommend/prefer?

Did both, prefer teams.

Both as and when it requires. Both have different pros and cons.

In project teams, you get to point the blame when things go wrong and cover your own back. It's harder to do this in silos.
"The programmer fucked up" / "Well yes they did!"
"So and so designer screwed up" / "Well you have the same skillset, you should have helped out"I like project teams with a good team that understands each other well. Certain jobs require larger silos (never heard the term before though) where there is a large amount of development or a big design procedure that doesn't necessarily need constant interaction between the different aspects.
It's not necessarily a pros and cons situation, just some jobs require constant interaction between different areas and others are a lot more like a ladder.
