Dmoz description in Google Results

Anyone know how to stop Google from pulling the description of a site exclusively from dmoz? I can't get it to include a more accurate description based on the content. The description it pulls is horribly generic and when I tried to update it, the douche dmoz editor made it even worse.
Anyone had this issue and know the best way to deal with it?
Odd thing is I have submitted numerous sites to dmoz over the years and never had this issue before.

If you mean the description that shows up in search results, usually that is from your META description tag. I've never heard of Google using text from an external site.

shouldn't you be watching bill maher or something?

you can stop it from using the (lame) DMOZ entry text by putting in
a NOODP meta taghttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Met…
can't guarantee this is still accurate, but I'm pretty sure it still works..

@Ukit
Cheers, but I am well aware of meta tags and yes, have a description meta tag. But its ignored in favor of the dmoz content for some reason. And usually if there is no content tag, Google would just pull appropriate text from the source.
I know it's the Dmoz description as I have tracked the particular description content to it.
- Hmmm, news to me. Hopefully Fizik's suggestion fixes it.ukit

Matt Cutts made a video post about this... Google will use what it finds appropriate for a description based on your content.
If your description tag matches your content, there's a good chance it will use that, if not it will pick something of it's own from your content, or it will take it from DMOZ if your site is listed. But it's all dependent on your site's content and (AFAIK) there's no way to guarantee what description comes up in the listing.

^^ You can't guarantee what description Google will use but you can eliminate the Dmoz description from the mix. The No-ODP tag works as Fizik describes. You have to wait till your site is respidered of course but it still works.
