I find crit requests for logos like this amusing when seen in a place like this - more used to haughty, sterile, inhumane brands. So inevitably, the junior designers here share thoughts from beyond their station, offering the hapless effluete of their 'opinion', based on nothing more than an expectation that's been drilled into them by years of compliant servitude to the corporate machine.
Fuckit - do what you will. Ignore the naysayers here. Most, like me, haven't got a fucking clue.
Mind you, ali has a point - balance out the line weights - imagine what your logo will look like at 1" size. Same goes for the flat, uncontrasted colour scheme too.
Personally, I kinda dig it - I really like where you're going with the type - not my thing, exactly, but seems right on target for your demographic.

- by right for the demographic are you saying that kite surfers have bad taste?maikel
- I'm suggesting that your sense of taste isn't nearly quite so nearly shared by all as you want to believe.detritus
- - one nearly.detritus
- don't take it personal boss. the guv said 'destroy'... not 'tell me your opinion about the demographics'maikel
- Good points!Salarrue

Not a designer, but: the type in the middle reminds me some neo-nazi symbol.

I really have no idea what i'm looking at. This would not work as a logo.

d'oh...
that won't ever work as a logo. it needs loads of work. it can be a nice illustration if you are into that, or even a cute tattoo, but if it's a logo what you want, that will put you in trouble. hard to align, impossible to reduce, and not sure how would you relate that to usual things us designers need to deal with, such as text, paragraphs, etc.
@ detritus, don't come up with crap like 'be free'. one thing is an artist and another a designer. we are usually hired to do something that works, and if you 'ain't know nothing' keep that way but I think that many people here know their stuff (probably the reason why the chap posted the logo here for a start!).
