They are almost inevitable in the LCD manufacturing process. Most displays these days have at least one and each manufacturer has a different limit for acceptable dead pixels per display.
You won't get a replacement for just 1, you would probably need over 15.

Man that sucks.
When i got my iphone it had 3 dead pixels, took it straight back and the pretentiously titled 'genius' (i assure you, he was not) said it happens all the time.
Good luck, jihad bomb the place!

I like the sound of that, just tried jscreenfix, didn't fix it, gonna try massaging it, which sounds wrong :)

When I got my 27" I had a couple of stuck pixels...2 really bright pins of light. I tried the software (didn't work), so I called the mac store, said I have this computer with a defective screen and they switched it out.

I've seen a few online shops which will check your screen for dead pixels before they ship a monitor. Only thing is - they charge a fee for the check.
I guess this means that if you _don't_ get the check, you're definitely going to end up with a shitty monitor - because someone has to end up with them?
