Is anyone else slightly dismayed when seeing young skate crews on sessions and they seem far more interested in filming themselves rather than actually skating?

I skated for years, still love to see what's happening at various spots in London; but it seems kid 1 will be shooting kid 2 attempt a stair trick or whatever, they then both spend 10 mins looking at replays on their camera/phone. Repeat ad nauseum.

I'm all for getting footage together, maybe in the hope of getting sponsored but it seems to be getting in the way of actually enjoying the pure joy of skateboarding. Have we lost the art of shredding? It's EVERY time I run across skaters about town.

It wasn't like that in my day etc etc, perhaps I became

    without realising.
