  A photo essay on Tibetan Buddhism in the nations of Amdo and Kham where Mahayana Buddhism is most commonly practiced by the culture. Goals of the Mahayana tradition include the personal achievement of spiritual enlightenment in order to assist all other sentient beings on this same path. These belief systems are most recognized through the office of H.H. Dalai Lama, the exiled spiritual and political leader of Tibet.
