    FTP is awfully fucking slow. I'm about gonna die here waiting for some fucking videos to download from a client's site.

    Isn't there a better way to upload and download from web servers? In this day and age?

    FTP is pretty freakin' direct. It all depends on who's hosting it and the speed of your individual connection.

    maybe their hosting is throttling FTP transfers, or you are downloading massive amounts of pr0n, or your ISP is throttling port 21 transfers...

    Did you spill coffee on your local sysadmin? IT dudes have strange ways to get revenge sometimes...

    Try FTP'ing something else and comparing the speed.... probably either the host or your local network...

    i try and avoid ftp whenever possible for this exact scenario. instead i just share out a folder on my dropbox (provided the client uses dropbox too, which in my case, hasn't been an issue)
