  2 kinds of PM:

  1. Senior web application PM at tech smart company... well paid, well organized, experienced and responsible for the success/failure of the project, and usually taken seriously, often brought in after a mess...

  2. PM who doesn't know they're canon fodder, usually at a marketing or sales-driven company/agency, this person has lots of meetings and MS-Project but little actual authority or pay... pre-existing conflicts get blamed on them....
