  for some reason i can never get this the first time. my right column always gets pushed down below the left - and for the life of me i can't work out why.

  anyone have any clue?! thx in advance.

  well I looked at your code and you've got to enclose the entry div within a wrapper and float that left. set it alongside your journal right div.

  create 1 div that floated left that contains your entriy divs, then 1 div for your right column.

    those "clear" divs you have in there can be removed too. one after the floated elements should suffice.– bulletfactory2/2
