you pay someone who knows what they are doing. They'll use the software they like best for this type of work.
- benfal990
what is that?
- benfal990
You can use Adobe Illustrator to do it, man.
- ItalianStallion0
Graphics in Illustrator don't do that kind of things... I mean the squared graphic.
Am I wrong?- i dont get it... of course you can do squares in Illustrator! wtfbenfal99
- chrisRG0
Flash/Actionscript would do the job.

Can't you just make a square/rectangle in Illustrator. Chop it up into 10rows and 10 columns (100 little squares ie 100%) and do it manually? 10% = 10 squares. 17% = 17 squares. Am I missing something?

paypal me £50, i'll tell you how to do this.
- Jimbo820
A simple bit of maths?
- chrisRG0
actually it all depends on how he wants to do that, do you want it to be dynamic or static? is it for web/print/whatsoever?
- miesvan0
if you want this, this amount is shit. If 251,78 is equal to 218,542. Perhaps do you want this?
- that makes no sensemonospaced
- What no makes sense?
Is only appearance without any rigor.
Has drawn what he has left the ballsmiesvan - still makes no sensemonospaced

Use your brain and do your best to "eye" it. In the end, nobody will take out a ruler and measure the areas; people will focus on the numbers which are really the important part of the infographic.

Also, why does everyone always think there's a specific piece of software to automatically do their hard work? It's called work.
- detritus0
Because, monospaced, the form of graphic ItalianStallion referred to IS borne of a piece of software.
I'lll be daned if I can recall what it is though.
- I'LL BE DANED!detritus
- Are you sure about that? If I was making this infographic I would just make a large grid and figure it out in an hour.monospaced
- Cool. You could say the same about piecharts - but there's software for them too...detritus
- I do pie charts by hand.monospaced
- Well, there we go.

There's no replacement for getting some paper, a pencil, rubber, ruler, calculator (optional) and working it out for yourself.

SERIOUSLY!monospaced - Especially if you're going to STEAL someone's idea in the first place.monospaced

Not quite there, but perhaps this'll start you off?

You should work it out as best you can, then purchase the necessary vehicles to force the stats to accurately fit your best effort.

Thanks everybody.
I did it with my hands using Illustrator, it took me a calculator and a good grid, as you said.
The point was: if I have to do it once every week it costs me a lot of time. I'm not pretending there's a software for every piece of work I have to do, I was just curious about this particular situation, for my convenience and just to know if there's a way to expand my Illy skills.- "I did it with my hands using Illustrator"
