having the hardest time finding an online solution for short run printing. anyone one got any gems?
short runs of 20 to 40 prints
mostly 11x17 with folds, 4/4 non-bleed.i know that isn't an ideal run for printers but i need such a service a few times a month. cheapest i found was with print pelican (.com)
for 160 or so..Thanks in advanced.

with such frequency, invest in doing it yourself
- yeah. I've been lobbying for the client to pay 500 bucks & buy a laser printerplash
- sounds like something for the likes of office max or kinkos maybeversion3
- a $500 color laser is probably not the solution...they're just not that greatmonospaced

If laser is fine for you, their is a place in Atlanta that does any quantity full color laser prints on a collection of stock. 13x19 i think - and they do folding
www.imagers.com - maybe you could find something similar or have them ship out to you.

why wouldn't you just upload to kinkos and have them delivered to your or clients location?

thats what we are doing.
kinkos isn't consistent and im looking for another option.my client is located in Northern Virginia, im in Chicago. i don't get the benefit of being there to pick it up and making sure its done right.

I just did a quick search for Reprographics Chicago and came up with a fine list. This kind of service is a step up from Kinko's, but it's not a large run offset kind of thing. I hope that helps.
In the end, you get what you pay for.
- actually, that list blows, but there are usually on demand print shop storefronts in cities that would helpmonospaced

^ johndiggity; thats exactly what i am searching for.
my old employer had a Xerox DocuColor and we would make office scratch by doing small runs for local businesses when not in use.cant make millions but we did manage to have some pretty sweet office parties.
anyone one know of Northern Virginia businesses with a high volume printer thats willing to do some small runs when not in use?

I am having the same problem. I want to get a relatively small run of a magazine printed, but costs are astronomical.
