A friend and I are planning to drive across USA, possibly this summer. We're making a movie about it.
Are there any interesting movies/documentaries you'd recommend watching?

There was this guy who came to America a few years back, traveling across the country meeting people and searching for a celebrity, and he documented the whole thing. The people and places he visits are colorful and his experiences are definitely eye-opening. His name was Borat.

There's a nice audio book recording of "On the Road"... that and Robert Frank's "The Americans" were my favs...
Philippe Seclier also made a documentary film going along the same route as Robert Frank did, some 50 years later
