Project CARS (pc) is great, runs like a charm, is challenging, sounds well and looks great while doing so.
Can recommend it, will try it with a wheel tomorrow (controller by now..).

time sinks, highly entertaining but damn, why can't they release when it's too cold to go outside!

Played The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for some hours on PC yesterday and was very impressed. The world is really made with love and an unbelievable attention to detail. I'm totally dragged into the story and I really want to do all the side quests, very rare for me.
Can recommend it, also seems to run quite stable while looking very good, regardless of the downgrade blah.
Yay!
- Cool. Thinking of getting for ps4 - does it matter if I haven't played 1 & 2?MrT
- I also haven't played them so I'd say no but they sure have built in a lot of old friends & enemiesmekk
- Loving this. Some of the best forests / natural landscapes in a game yet. It doesn't really matter if you've not played 1 & 2.DanFleetwood
- I'm playing it on a PS4. Great game, except for the controls. They are horrible. Picking up loot and walking through doorways is harder than killing monsters.Milan
- And the swimming controls are a joke.Milan
- jup, also shit with mouse & keyboard but I already ordered an adapter for my xbox controller :Dmekk
- It takes a while to get used to the controls, but once you do - what an amazing game! So much attention to detail. The quest stories are super twisted fables.Milan
- I just finished the Bloody Baron quest. Jesus! What a crazy storyMilan
- yep, a great story! Also playing it with controller on PC, much better!mekk

Oh yeah, almost forgot; last weekend was Project: CARS' weekend with a wheel. The game seems to have issues with the Logitech driver, so it resets the saved controls every time the game starts. Not pleasing. When set up properly it's a lot of fun.
What's really cool is that you can set your own weather and daylight and cycle it around, eg. "during the race, go from 2am to 2m while having sun, then heavy rain and then sun again". pretty cool :)
- started playing it last night, a demanding game that rewards you once you begin to get a handle on the controls ...etc.Bluejam
- beautiful to look at and can see myself playing this alot, whilst step by step turning off the driver aids and raising the difficultyBluejam
- yup, I was still playing it in peasant mode after five hours.mekk
- a Kickstarter success story, I might buy this for PS4 later onernexbcn

Shadow of the Beast reboot is an intriguing prospect if, like me, you're old enough to remember the original...

Well since nintendo is whoring themselves out everywhere now, working on mobile games, working with universal to create theme park rides, Im pretty surprised they havent teamed up with Pixar yet to have them create their 3d animated movies using nintendo's characters. Seems like a perfect marriage to me.
Pixar doesnt have much going on. Their movies havent been as good as they used to be, and I dont think theyre nearly as successful as they once were, so I cant imagine they would want to turn down a partnership like this. Make it happen! Have them work on Mario and Zelda animated movies and watch the money pour in.
- A pixar mario movie in the mushroom kingdom would be great. Only tricky part is mario's voice.CygnusZero4
- They already did make a Lego movie.monospaced
- oh man, brain fart... ignore memonospaced
- Aren't they making a Zelda series with Netflix?i_monk

Movie to Game or Game to Movie has a very low success rate.. most stuff that came out was total crap either as a movie or a game.
While I like Zelda and Mario was basically my gaming childhood I wouldn't give a flying fuck about a movie with them (there is actually a Mario movie, it's horrible).
Also the last Pixar movies were actually a huge success, see Cars, Planes, Frozen.. It's just not as groundbreaking as Toy Story was and there is a lot of good competition now.
But there is one link that I really like: Motion/Performance Capturing and Face Tracking; see The Witcher 3, every little quest is a fully directed scene and beautifully animated, a bit like a Pixar movie, just not as beautiful because performance blah blah.

- the gameplay in the vid doesnt look as good as those promo shots under it. just sayin yo.CygnusZero4
- Promo shots are done with extreme resolution and every detail level possible with that engine and ultra high res textures. runs about 4-5fps, only for screeneysmekk
- yeah agreed on the trailer vs screenshots. they skipped a next-gen release in '14 so if they don't deliver this year there will be a lot of disappointed F1 fansSteveJobs
- Is F1 like the FIFA franchise?mekk

A New Yorker article about No Man's Sky
[ More recently, he had noticed geological formations that an artist had hand-designed for another video game, and realized that the algorithms of No Man’s Sky were not equipped to make them. The problem nagged at him, until he found an equation, published in 2003 by a Belgian plant geneticist named Johan Gielis. The simple equation can describe a large number of natural forms—the contours of diatoms, starfish, spiderwebs, shells, snowflakes, crystals. Even Gielis was amazed at the range when he plugged it into modelling software. “All these beautiful shapes came rolling out,” he told Nature. “It seemed too good to be true—I spent two years thinking, What did I do wrong? and How come no one else has discovered it?” Gielis called his equation the Superformula. ]
