  Work just upgraded to CS4 and it still has a few shortcomings.

  Make a list of things you would like fixed in here then Ill email adobe. Sure they probably get this list everyday but what the hey?

  My list so far.

  Photoshop.
  • Make the undos keep undoing like illustrator.
  • Make type click to select like illustrator
  • Make type selectable and then able to eyedrop other type to bring the font settings across like illustrator

  Illustrator.
  • make the eyedropper work for selecting gradient colours
  • make pages work like indesign

  excpet for the in-design pages thing I'm pretty sure you were able to do all that on CS3, why remove it now?

  make smart guides work the same as CS3 - the new ones are rubbish, and don't snap to objects half as well as the last lot.

  • well when you zoom in far enough it automatically shows you a pixel grid. If you want that then yes.– slappy1/2

  interesting new illy feature -- you can have up to 100 artboards in one file/layer -- each inividually editable, measureable and exportable.

  History is still there obviously.

  I meant that when you press command + z it continually keeps undoing through the history, the same way illustrator does. Command + z backwards, command + shift + z forwards through history.

  Opening the history bar is a pain and I dont have room to keep it open on my single screen.

  Please allow me to help...

  Photoshop
  • Making undos infinite (or to a certain number) would fuck up a number of more advanced features of Photoshop.
  • Making type click-to-active would fuck your ability to place new type.
  • Making type selectable and then able to eyedrop other type to bring the font settings across like illustrator is actually something I wouldn't mind, cause it's fuck-all annoying sometimes when I can't do this.

  Illustrator
  • Make the eyedropper work for selecting gradient colors -- not sure what you mean, but it's most definitely possible, as I do it all the time.
  • Make pages work like InDesign -- again, very vague criticism, but if it's what I think you want to be able to do, it is possible.

  • When you are creating a gradient and you select a colour for one end of the scale, you should be able to use the eye dropper to select the colour.– slappy1/2

  Remap cmd+Z to what cmd+opt+z currently does

  Fireworks rewrite, it has so much potential but its just so old and clunky. I mean it sits there using 10% of your processor even with no documents open because its so badly coded, the filters produce low quality blurry results.
  Yet its so much better than using Photoshop or Illustrator for web stuff because of a few interface differences.
  Looks like Adobe is trying to replace it with Catalyst though which is a turd of a program so far.
