Seems there is a significant number of users who have had installation problems with Snow Leopard (myself included)...
Anyone else experience errors while installing?
(here come the fail gifs...)

What was your issue? Are you updating from Tiger or Leopard? Do you have a Power PC or an Intel?

Upgrading from Leopard on an intel-based MBP
Gets in for about 30 mins, then fails. This happened twice, and both times it stole HD space (can't locate where it placed Temp/Install files though..) Error message is as follows:
Install Failed
Mac OS X could not be installed on your computer
!
The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.
Click Restart to restart your computer and try installing again.

Side note... did anyone have any luck with CS3 and Snow Leopard?

i ran the install with no problems. saved about 4gb of hdd space. it doesnt seem that much faster, but i do notice a speed increase in some areas. im running cs4 and all is well. yay for me.

Don't worry it's all normal, nothing to write home about. Early adopters who update their system with a non-essential paid upgrade within a week from launch are very likely to encounter bugs and get screwed.
There are extra gray hairs for not doing a full hard drive backup prior to update.

Repair permisisons, check HD for error then try to install again.

Fine for me, bad ram might be an issue, it fucked up my install of Leopard till i took it out and it worked fine .
There should be a proper error log in the console or somewhere, ask on a nerdy mac forum.

Are you just a PC spreading slander?

I got the screen of death when I first tried installing it, then my mac wouldn't start up all the way - tried shutting down and then starting up holding shift and my mac started up right to the install screen for Snow Leopard (which I thought was strange) - so I continued with the install and it completed and everything seems to be fine for now.

When I installed it couldn't find System Events.app, but I showed it where it was and everything was OK. It may have had something to do with the iStat menu bar, that screwed some stuff up until I got rid of it.
