- nec, 30,000+ miles under my ass. might i please suggest always wearing a full face helmet, gloves, back protector and leather shoes, ankle support if possible.imbecile

- great dadmugwart
- awesome usage of a cooler box lol :Dsted
- I always seen it as a pain in the ass that dirt bikes didn't have kickstands, though I would never get one if they had them.moldero
- These mini bikes came with them back in the day. i have been looking allover for one for the green bike. hard to find.BonSeff
- Something like this?
http://www.ebay.com/…GM278 - you just clamp it down on the swingarm. not the original one but it'll work. ;)GM278
- yea, but the kx has the hinge welded on the frame already. i just need the kickstand and a spring. want to keep it as original as possible.BonSeff

- cafe man, cafe that bitchmoldero
- restore to originalBonSeff
- either restore it, or go the Vanilla Ice route >> http://pictures.tops…makeitnice
- Definitely not full cafe as lowered biked ride like crap on british roads. Hmm... Some photoshop planning will be done me think.ShaneHolley
- if you go the cafe route you'll have to grow a matching moustache too.microkorg
- Restore - it will still look great in ten yearsSlashPeckham
- had it over a year and only just got it running properly so in no rush. Only reason I'm thinking of modifying is to lighten it up. It's a bloody heavy bike.ShaneHolley
- No moustache thanksShaneHolley
- Restore to original!!!!!!nb
- Wait, backup...did you say "Definitely not full cafe as lowered biked ride like crap on British roads?!?!" Cafe racers are an inherently British creation.GM278
- Although I hear you, a true cafe with low bars and rearsets are very uncomfortable to ride if you're planning on buzzing around town or in congested areas.GM278
- They only work when you're opening it up on a twisty road.GM278
- Scrambler or street tracker styles give you the stripped down look and a bit more ridability.GM278
- Exactly mate. Cafe racers were for sprinting from one cafe to the next for bets. As for taking a Sunday riding for the day, they're back breakers.ShaneHolley
- But ask yourself...how tired is the bike? Can it be restored? How often do you seen one that's all complete and original?GM278
- 2 Werds: Ape Hangersprophetone
- I'd put it back to original if the frame and engine is still good enough to be a real classic bike one day :)mekk
- doing a little research on period customs to keep the early 70's vibe.ShaneHolley
- GM2787
- no qbn sticker?imbecile
- QBN ain't payin' his bills!BonSeff
- ^This. Stickers are for companies that support my insanity. Nasa is the exception but I worked there and this bike is a rocket! :PGM278
- https://c2.staticfli…GM278
- the nasa one made me say it! :Dimbecile
- dope, & Dunlop FTW, loved the 208's broke both my shoulders on 207GP's in a rain race at buttonwillow turn 3 or 4 though, didnt know their profile was so steepmoldero
- god damn i miss this shitmoldero
- take a lap for me brother!!moldero
- They gave me some Ntec slicks to play with. I like them A LOT.GM278
- I never ran slicks, must be awesomemoldero
- I also run Pirelli Diablo Superbike slicks....which I can't say anything negative about.GM278
- Modly, you NEED to do a session on slicks. You'll never run a street tire on your track bike again. You're not too far from TX...cmon out!!!GM278
- I wish, sold all my bikes to get a house in SF, then I lost the fucking thing during the crash while i was/am living in Mexicomoldero
- Still have all your gear, Modly? I'm sure we can find you a ride for a weekend.GM278
- i made the mistake of keeping my alpine star leathers in my 12' trailer down here in the heat, they about disintegrated, no more leathers w/ plastic on them 4memoldero
- Sweet bikeDillinger

My next 80's project is a 1989 CR125 I picked up on CL for $700. No dents in the stock pipe, and the tires are stock and bald. Guy said it had been sitting for 15yrs or so. I was skeptical until I removed the seat and saw the corroded air filter. Its in great shape and is going to make a great restoration project. Wet sanding the tank is going to be a beating though. This model was my first "big bike" back in the day coming off minis. The only mod I want to make on it is upgrade the front suspension, wheel and brakes to upside down forks off a 2010 and up Honda.
So far I have a 1986 JR50, 1987 KX60 and this. My wife thinks I am nuts.
- Those motors are fun as shit to work on. I support this decision.GM278
- Thank you, sir!BonSeff

- SMELLS LIKE PLASTIC!!!necromation
- if your on a Harley all you'll smell is burnt rubbermoldero
- OBBTKN haha I thought the same thing. Initially wondered if it was a joke. Necro, the bodywork on your new V2 is made of? ;PGM278
- I like the vintage colors, 90's lookBennn
- It feels like the bikes haven't changed at all since the 90s. I guess they found the optimum bodywork and just stuck with it.monNom
- ^ yes and no. look at all the aero packages motogp is using. But yeah, bodywork design is confined to the mechanics of a petrol-driven machine.GM278
- I think you'll see more / greater evolution in bodywork with electric bikes which arent limited to where a tank needs to be in relation to a motor etcGM278
- imbecile5
- yupprophetone

- Yep, yep, yep!fooler
- dyspl3
I planned on getting one later, around spring 2018, but I couldn't pass this one.
This bike is amazing. As GM278 and necromation stated, the 959 is already plenty, I'm glad I didn't go for the bigger one.I plan on using it only for the weekends, and keep my sportster for everyday rides and commute (I don't own a car).
- nice!GuyFawkes
- YES!!! That's a beauty!!! got LOADS of extras on there too... always a result ;) Enjoy bro and ride safe!necromation
- Yes, I had a really great price on it, and all the parts already installed where the deciding factor.dyspl
- NICE!GM278

- jealousy ensuesimbecile
- ^ Don't be jealous...come out to the track!GM278
- fuck i miss this shitmoldero
- Yeah, pretty jealous as well. Might head to COTA next month for F1 but I'd kill to race anything on this circuit. Even kartsSteveJobs
- haha you don't need to resort to murder. A track day will run around 500 bucks. (not including fuel, tires, food, lots of water and gatorade etc)GM278
- nicccceeee... i'm coming for you bro! lolnecromation
- necromation3
- YES!GM278
- https://www.youtube.…mekk
- I don't know about you but I have one bike on display in my house. If another one "follows me home" I'm going to need to move into a warehouse.GM278
- Hahaha... My girlfriend has literally given up on me and my bikesnecromation
- niceGuyFawkes
- I've been wanting one for a long time. Hard to justify since I live less than 2 miles from work and already have a motorcycle. If all goes according to plan shedyspl
- will be mine around may next year ( a used white 899 with black rims and carbon front fender please).dyspl
- i_monk5
- ohhh... look at youPonyBoy
- Brave man tyresShaneHolley
- @shane Front looks like an Avon / rear a Dunlop - like a K71. Pretty standard classic bike tires.GM278
- necromation3
- I know which bike I'm borrowing from you when I come visit. ;)GM278
- I like ducs. How is the ride and the sound? I am thinking about adding a Desert Sled to my fleet...Longcopylover
- Longcopylover - I have a Monster 1200s and a Panigale 899 too, so you can say I love them too lol... this bike is amazing! Handles perfectly and the torque...necromation
- ... is something else! I can’t believe how quick and comfortable it is. I was worried that it would unstable at high speeds too, this thing eats it up.necromation
- So then you should get a proper Jacket. :)
I have only one Ducati til now, but my 900ss is a bit bitchy sometimes. Thus I need sth to commute like a Hyper.Longcopylover - And it sounds you could recommend one of these.Longcopylover
- Honda Jacket on a Duc, no gear and that bag? That's one way to avoid London scooter theft gangs, they assume you already stole it :Dmekk
- So firstly i have all the gear on... I have armoured jacket underneath & and these are special motorbike jeans (pads on knees and hips, with kelvar lining)...necromation
- love bikes but i HATE motorcycling clothing... want to able to ride in gear as close to what i would wear normally, i wear my leathers when i'm on my 899necromation
- I see, these new jeans are cool :) but you don't look like some attgatt dude with them, that's what I meant.mekk
- Thats the plan! i dont want carry two lots of clothes on the daily so i opt for making my protection work around my stylenecromation
