Anybody ever use this app?

My 12" Powerbook is starting to really chug. need to clean it out.
Are there any other tips on getting my system running faster again?

That just frees up space.. not likely to be the cause of a slow system (although you want to keep 5-10GB free)
Have you looked in Activity Monitor > CPU at running processes?

ive got about 30gb free. but working with photoshop or any CS application is just a pain! there is always at least a 5-10 second wait when i am just simply changing tools...among other things

max out your RAM. . . big difference with the sort of 10 second hangups, etc like you're describing

RAM is maxed out. my computer is about 3.5 years old. Should I just do a complete reformat? have never done it before
- bizness0
i say ebay that laptop and get into a new machine

the 3.5 year slump. it's all downhill from here. work hard and save for a new machine.
don't get your hopes up trying to free disk space unless you're @ less than 10GB.

if the hard disk has become fragmented, it'll be slowing things down... no? so a complete reformat should be good. no?
my mac is also experiencing the same issues and still has 30gb free... it never used to be this slow but it's been used intensively over the last 6 months... I'm also considering a complete reformat/reinstall.
anyone find it works?

I'd do an Archive and Install (option 2) first, rather than clean install. It gives you a fresh System folder, without all the hassle of a clean install.
- felizfeliz0
but does it improving the mac's performance? that's the burning question...
desmo - you just insert the osx disk that came with you mac and restart. you'll see the option to archive and install there.

Every year? Do you ever get that time back?
I mean, just doing the system software and the Creative Suite would take a long time. What about Logic Pro, Reason, Recycle and all the cool stuff?
I can't imagine you could get all that time back in improved efficiency in one year...

app zapper

It is a slow old computer, that's all.
Defragmenting could help. Doesn't have to be done with defrag software, usually cloning drive to external and back does the trick.

ok now my system is doing a weird thing where it automatically clicks away to the finder screen, even while i am working. wtf!
